*~Pregunatale a La Princessa~*

La Princessa is on vacation, until further notice her advice column will be covered by Aquariuz.

Dear Aquariuz,
I need help!! My boyfriend and I have been together for about 3 months now, I love him very much. He is originally from Cuba the other day; he told me he loves me. I was trying my best to be sexy and seductive, so I replied to him in Spanish (which I learned in school) I told him “te quiero”, He got all bent out of shape. He apparently was offended with the term “te quiero.” I was born and raised in the east coast, my Spanish is very limited. Did I say something wrong by telling him “te quiero”? Please help me; I love my boyfriend very much.

Sincerely, Confused in the East Coast

Dear Confused,

After doing a bit of research (asking my mom) I was told that the phrase “te quiero” can be used to tell your boyfriend, family member, friend etc… that you care about them. The phrase “te amo” is used to tell someone (i.e. your boyfriend) that you LOVE him/her. Though you did NOT say anything offensive your boyfriend was probably hoping to hear the words “te amo.” Next time a situation like this occurs, remind your boyfriend, that though you speak Spanish, it is not your native tongue, and at times you may need some assistance.

Much love, Aquariuz

Dear Aquariuz,

I’m a guy in need of a woman’s advice. I’ve been with my girl for three years now and I’ve never done anything romantic for her. I’m not a romantic type of guy. I’ve been through a lot these past months, and I almost lost my girlfriend. Almost losing her made me realize I can’t live without her, I love her with all my heart. I want to propose to her on Valentine’s Day, but I want to do something romantic for her. I’ve never wanted to do anything like this for any woman so I’m lost I don’t know what to do. Do you have any ideas, Please help me.

Many thanks, Unromantic man

Dear Unromantic,

You came to the right place, for advice about romance…being that I myself am a hopeless romantic. Write your proposal out, let her know why she is special to you, let her know how much you love her and tell her all the wonderful and amazing things that you love about her.  As for the actual proposal you can do a number of things here is an idea I found at http://scripts.lovingyou.com they have several romantic ideas which you can browse through.

A Proposal that Lasts Forever
For a proposal, take a picture of each letter in WILL YOU MARRY ME from different signs or whatever. Each letter individually on different pictures (14 in all). They can be placed in a small photo album, one per page so that she will have to flip through them as she reads the letters when you are ready to propose. Then dress nice and have someone take a picture of you down on one knee in the spot the proposal will take place, with the ring out. Add this as the final picture in the album. Then tell your love that you are going out so dress nice. Put the same outfit on you took your picture in. Take her to the same spot, so that the picture is identical (maybe a park). Then, when she is ready, give her the pictures and tell her to look. When she gets to the end there you will be, just like in the picture. Wait till the last picture to get on one knee. They will have the memory of that proposal for a lifetime as well as a keepsake of the moment.

When planning your proposal remember this: Never be afraid of making a fool out of yourself, be creative and never be afraid or ashamed to love someone as if your life depended on it. Make your proposal a night she will always remember.

Good luck and make sure to let me know how it goes.

Much love, Aquariuz
